Untitled Time Event

The strongest part of this is the horizontal emphasis and rightward motion. It all has a sense of forward motion towards an inevitable end. The pronounced reds, diminishing heartbeat and black speckling fragments all add to that sense. The full-profile view and blank background work together to give it a sense that this is an important action happening at an unimportant time. The only parts of the composition working against you are the bullet casing moving backwards at an angle (breaking up your brilliant horizontal motion) and the barrel-mounted light that seems to have a bit too much perspective on it (that said though, it makes the gun angled just the slightest bit towards the viewer, which in some sense makes it more powerful.)

It's a great piece, and something that I'd actually love to have as a print.
